Greetings, Brothers and Sisters,
I pray this message finds you well. At the time of this writing, I am recovering from a sinus infection that developed into pneumonia. However, I am on the upward swing now and feeling stronger each day, thanks to God’s grace and your prayers. As we move into October, I want to share several important events and updates.
As we enter October, I want to take a moment to recognize and celebrate Pastor Appreciation Month. Pastors are a central leadership point in our churches by God's design, dedicating countless hours to ministering, preaching, and caring for their congregations. It’s important to show our gratitude to the men and women who lead us spiritually, encourage us through life’s challenges, and faithfully preach the Word of God. I encourage you to reach out to your pastor this month with a word of thanks, a small gift, or even a heartfelt prayer. Let’s lift them up and show appreciation for their tireless service in the Lord’s work.
I am excited to introduce Mark Reffit as our new Treasurer. Mark will begin officially serving on November 1st, and we are confident that he will bring the same dedication and faithfulness to this role as he has in other areas of ministry.
This will ensure a smooth and efficient process as we transition responsibilities. I also want to extend a heartfelt thanks to Randy Kamer for his 20-plus years of dedicated service as our Treasurer. Randy has served with great integrity and commitment, and we are grateful for all he has done to keep our finances in order and our ministries thriving during some of the most challenging times of our association.
Please be ready to attend our upcoming Minister’s Conference that will be held on November 2nd at 10 a.m. at the Youth Tabernacle on the Wheelersburg, Ohio, campgrounds. I am honored to preach during this gathering, and we will be blessed with special music from Tyran Ellis. Following the conference, we will have a Pastor Appreciation lunch to show our gratitude to the pastors who have faithfully served throughout the year. This will be a wonderful time of fellowship and encouragement, and I encourage all our ministers and church members to attend.
As we look ahead to Thanksgiving, I am excited about our combined Christian Baptist Association service on Sunday, November 24th, at 7 p.m. at the campgrounds. This will be a time of unified worship and thanksgiving for all the churches in our association. We are one church! Jodi and Levi Nelson, and Brian Baer will lead us in music, and we will hear preaching from our Assistant General Superintendent, Danny Deck. This promises to be a spirit-filled evening as we gather together to give thanks to the Lord for His many blessings.
In His Service,
Dr. Jeremy Kamer
General Superintendent
